Folorunsho Alakija : An example in women’s entrepreneurship!

According to Forbes magazine, she is the richest woman in Nigeria with a personal fortune estimated by the magazine at $1.1 billion. She positions herself in this position thanks to her adventure in the oil industry that began nearly 25 years ago. She remains an example in women’s entrepreneurship on the continent and far beyond.

1.1 billion dollars is more than the fortunes of the Billon and Diagou families combined. That is to say the level where Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija stands. She also owns a home in One Hyde Park in London valued at $102 million and a $46 million Bombardier Global Express 6000 private jet.

Folorunsho Alakija made the buzz a few years ago when she financed the marriage of one of its sons between the United Kingdom and Nigeria for nearly 5 million euros, or 3.2 billion CFA francs. She has a reputation for integrity and owes much of her fortune to a major poker strike.  She has invested in an oil field left abandoned by the big groups, which will eventually show great promise.

Risk taking, audacity, Jackpot!
